You know the drill. Watch the video, enjoy the music, contemplate the lyrics. Then read on.
"Raised in Glory"
Sewn in weakness
Raised in power
Sewn in dishonor
Raised in Glory
Raise them up
Oh King of Justice
Child of David
Wash your hands
Son of David
Wash their feet
You are my only son
Have I gone too deep
Am I asleep, Lord?
Give me a sign
A tender shoot
A dried up root
He's burning branches with no fruit
Lord, I'm not worthy to die like you
Put my head on the ground
Washa, Washa, Washa
Wake up, child
The half has not been told
Root of Jesse
Root of Blessing
Bring the remnant back to You
Seek the Lord you shall be called
"Repairer of Broken Walls"
This band, The Soil & The Sun says that their sound is, "Experiential Spiritual Folk-Rock meets New Mexican Space Music."
They may not have openly claimed Christ as the only way to heaven in their interviews or on their webpage, but this band's song is blatantly scriptural. In fact, it is more scriptural than many church songs, in that there are no warm-fuzzy cliches to latch onto. This is refreshing.
Also, listen to the musicianship. The beautiful, beautiful musicianship. Two drummers, strings, extra percussion and oh so many textures. This is music that glorifies God by the sheer creativity that comes from a beautiful creator.
Church musician, worship leader, songwriter: is there something we can learn about this experimental and dangerous approach to worship music?
I loved their sound, but I was curious to know if they are really Christians, and what is 'moshua' they speak in one of the songs. Could someone help me?
